Denbigh Town are delighted to announce that Central Park will host two upcoming Victory Shield internationals.

Two of Wales’ three matches will take place at Denbigh Town as Cymru face the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in the historic competition.

The matches will take place on November 6th and 8th as Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland all face off in the competition which has been a favourite since 1925.

Central Park joins Colliers Park (Wrexham), Deeside Stadium (Deeside) and Llanellian Road (Colwyn Bay) as host stadiums for this year.

The home nations all compete at Under-16 level with Ireland hosting in 2022 and lifting the trophy last time out.

Wales last won the competition in 2021/22 as joint champions with Scotland and last won it outright in 2016.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome more international football to Central Park” said Denbigh Town chairman Shon Powell.

“Following the recent announcement that we’ll be a host ground for the 2026 U19 European Championship, this gives local supporters and those further afield a chance to whet the appetite as we prepare.

“To have Wales playing twice at Central Park is fantastic, especially when this age group will all be possible contenders for the tournament in three years' time back here.

“We hope to welcome as many people as possible to Denbigh and are proud to fly the flag for the county in regards to hosting international matches”.
