FAW Trophy Quarter Final Sat 8 Feb 2020 1.30pm kick off

Can we get into the semis!

This Saturday we make the long journey to South Wales to play Baglan Dragons in the quarter final of the national competition, the FAW Trophy.

We do not know anything about our opponents other than what we can gleam from the internet but we only have to have a look at the Premier League table of the South Wales Alliance to know that we have got a tough game on our hands.

Currently third in the league table having played 13 games Baglan have 31 points and a number of games in hand over the two teams above. They are currently undefeated, have the best goal difference, the best defensive record and are clearly one of the teams that are favourites to win the league and gain promotion. They are in great form and won 8 - 1 last Saturday.

They had a home tie in the last round of the FAW Trophy and beat Penrhiwcaeber Rangers
3 - 1 back in January

Denbigh Town are also scoring goals at the moment and both of our strikers are finding the net on a regular basis and will be keen to do well in South Wales. Our defensive record has also been good and we can boast of having the best goal difference in our own league up here in North Wales. We have not lost a match since that home defeat to Llandudno back in October and have had two clean sheets in our last two matches.

Denbigh squeezed past Rhos Aelwyd in the last round 2 -1 at Central Park

We asked manager Dewi LLion how he was feeling about the match and he said " I will be taking the same squad that played at Prestatyn last week although Paul Fleming is unavailable. Will Ashley is back though and can slot in that midfield place. We have a long journey to Port Talbot but, as in every game, we will be doing our utmost to win the tie and see ourselves in that hat "

We hope to be able to tweet any highlights from the match which is sure to be a close encounter and hope to be able to publish a pictorial record as always.

Go for it lads

C'mon Denbigh !
