Denbigh Town hit the road this weekend with one of the longest journeys of the campaign.
Dewi Llion’s side head south to face Caersws in a big game for both sides.
Caersws v Denbigh Town
Date: 15/03/2025
Kick-Off: 14:00
Location: Recreation Ground
Competition: JD Cymru North
Form
Town come into this one on heels of back-to-back wins in the Cymru North. Last time out we faced Prestatyn Town where an Owen Davies brace and stoppage time penalty save from Elijah Beattie secured three points in a 2-1 win. A week previous we made the trip to Buckley where Alfie Vaughan (brace), Nathan Brown, Bobby Beaumont and Sam Duffy netted in a 5-0 thrashing of Buckley.
Caersws know that now is the time to secure their first three points since January. The Bluebirds sit third bottom occupying the final relegation slot but know at least a point will lift them out of the dropzone at the expense of Ruthin They travelled to Colwyn Bay last weekend where Sam Phillips gave his side the lead from the spot, but the Bay fought back in the second half to win 3-1. It now means Caersws have lost their last five games and will now move forward without manager Luke Williams.
Head to Head
Town’s form when it comes to facing Caersws has been positive over the past four years. Our last meeting came back in August where goals from Sam Duffy and Paul Fleming secured a 2-0 victory. Our last away trip was played at Newtown’s Latham Park where Owen Davies levelled late in a 1-1 draw.
The last time Denbigh played at Caersws came in the Lock Stock Ardal Northern League Cup Final, beating Bow Street 6-1 to secure a famous double. Our last game at the ground against Caersws was back in March 2018 where Andrew Swarbrick and Matthew Worrall scored in a 2-0 victory.
