- A Denbighshire Derby Awaits

A Denbighshire Derby comes to Central Park this Friday night as Prestatyn make the short journey to LL16.

With the visitors desperate for points and Denbigh looking to finish as well as possible in the final six games, there’s plenty on the line.

Denbigh Town v Prestatyn Town
Date:
07/03/2025
Kick-Off: 19:45
Location: Central Park
Competition: JD Cymru North

Form

Denbigh come into the game on the back of a breathtaking 5-0 win away at Buckley last weekend. Alfie Vaughan’s brace along with strikes from Nathan Brown and Sam Duffy added to a superb header from Bobby Beaumont blew Buckley away. It was Town’s first win since the end of January having drawn 1-1 a week previous away to Ruthin Town, with Owen Davies netting the leveller. Our last game at Central Park ended with a 2-0 loss to Flint Mountain.

2025 has been kinder to Prestatyn as they ended a run of 12 losses on the spin earlier this season. However, they’re back on a run of three straight defeats including a narrow 1-0 loss to Holywell last weekend. The Seasiders’ last win came at the beginning of February with a 1-0 home win over Ruthin. It’s been more than a year since their last away win, coming in February 2024 at Chirk. Prestatyn know defeat this Friday and a win for Caersws on Saturday at Colwyn Bay would see them relegated.

Head to Head

We last met back in December in a rearranged fixture at Bastion Gardens. Sam Duffy opened the scoring before Oli Buckley levelled for the hosts. With five minutes to play a loose ball fell to Nathan Brown who hammered home for the three points.

Our last meeting at Central Park came in February 2024 where Matthew Worrall, Ben Lockley, Josh Lock and Owen Davies found the net in a 4-3 success that could have been out of sight early doors, only for Prestatyn to fight back twice.

Stat Pack

Calum Butler could make his 25th appearance for the club this weekend.

Denbigh are looking for back-to-back league wins for the third time this season.

Prestatyn are looking for a first away league win over a side who has remained in the Cymru North since August 2023.

Prestatyn are looking for their first win over Denbigh at Central Park since October 2015.
