- Three senior sides in action

Denbigh Town’s three senior sides were all in action this weekend with plenty of action across the weekend.

With games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday there was a lot to keep on top of and here we give you the run down of what went on.

Denbigh Town 2-4 Colwyn Bay - JD Cymru North

Friday night saw 580 supporters at Central Park as Colwyn Bay came to LL16. Denbigh went a goal down early before rallying and levelling via Keelan Williams on 13 minutes, his second goal in as many matches. However, the visitors netted three unanswered before Sam Duffy grabbed a consolation in stoppage time.

Town take a week off due to the JD Welsh Cup First Round bye before heading to Holywell on September 28th.

Ruthin Town Reserves 4-2 Denbigh Town - FAW Reserve League North East

A Vale of Clwyd Derby was on the cards for the Reserves on Saturday as Jordan Baker’s side made the short hop over to Ruthin. Tom Salisbury headed home the opener but Ruthin pulled it back to go in level at the break. Town went behind early in the second half before Salisbury got back on the scoresheet with a sensational effort, but Ruthin rallied to grab two more to take the spoils.

The Reserves are without a fixture next week, with the next slated game at home to Buckley Town on September 27th.

Henllan Ladies 3-4 Denbigh Town Ladies - NEWFA Women’s Football League East

The game of the weekend came at Cae Llannefydd as Denbigh had another local derby, this time against Henllan. A disastrous first half led to Henllan taking a 3-0 lead into the break before Town fought back valiantly. Amber Hellon pulled one back nine minutes into the second half before Ceri Purvis reduced the deficit further. Lowri Claybrook drew Town level with a great strike before Hellon put Denbigh 3-4 up 16 minutes after being down by three - the final three goals for Town coming within five minutes of each other. It sends Denbigh top of the table early on.

Denbigh Town Ladies are next in action next Sunday in the Welsh Cup at home to Pwllheli.
