- It was a big weekend at Denbigh Town

All three of Denbigh Town’s senior sides were in action this weekend with matches at Central Park.

The Men’s first-team, Reserves, and Ladies were all in league matches with a whopping 21 goals scored across less than 72 hours.

565 supporters came through the gates at LL16 that saw a win, draw, and loss across those matches. Here, we break those down.

Denbigh Town 2-0 Airbus UK Broughton - JD Cymru North

The first team took on Airbus on Friday night with the visitors arriving with five wins from five in the JD Cymru North. Manager Dewi Llion celebrated his 150th game in charge and marked the occasion with a victory as two second-half goals from Matthew Worrall and Paul Fleming sealed the points.

352 supporters attended the match, the highest-attended match in North Wales this weekend and sixth in the country.

They’re next in action on Saturday away to Cerrigydrudion in the JD Welsh Cup.

Denbigh Town Reserves 5-5 Gresford Athletic Reserves - FAW Reserve League North

The best value for money this weekend came on Saturday as Liam Nash’s Reserves took on Gresford. Ten goals were shared as Denbigh drew their second consecutive game with goals from Rhys Lloyd (2), James Thomas (2) and Aleksander Cyra. The match also included a red card each with Aled Rees-Williams dismissed late on.

The reserves will next face Holywell Development on Friday night at Central Park.

Denbigh Town Ladies 3-6 Flint Town United Ladies - North Wales Women’s Football League East

Ellen Lawson’s Denbigh Ladies kicked off the new campaign with a nine-goal thriller. Natalie Harrison and Ceri Purvis both scored within the first seven minutes on their debuts before Flint pulled it back to 2-2 at the break, The Silkwomen then took the lead before Eluned Evans’ second half strike made it 4-3, but two goals in stoppage time saw the visitors take home the points.

Next up for the Ladies is a trip to Llangefni Town in the FAW Women’s Cup.
