Denbigh Town Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Ben Hughes as our new Goalkeeper Coach.
Hughes, 25, joins the club from Ruthin Town and will link up with the coaching staff whilst also being available to play if required.
Hughes has experience coaching with previous club Ruthin whilst he has also held the role of player-coach at Cammell Laird in the North West Counties Football League.
The custodian has also played and coached at Poulton Royal in the West Cheshire League system.
“I’d like to say how pleased I am to start work at such a great club” said Hughes.
“From the first meeting I realised how good the fanbase is and how positive the club is acting in terms of building its way up the Welsh pyramid.
“Hearing about the club’s plans for the future, it was a no-brainer coming in and being a part of such a project.
“Can’t wait for the pre season to get going, meet the lads and hopefully improve on the club’s fantastic first season back in the JD Cymru North”.
Manager Dewi Llion added “It’s great to have Ben join the coaching staff as we look to build on the foundations we set last year.
“To bring him in for a specified role working with the goalkeepers, and being available himself is a big plus and something we’re delighted to tick off going into pre-season.
“He brings good experience for a young coach and will bring a lot to the side next season, I’m excited to work with him”.
Welcome to Denbigh, Ben!
