Denbigh Town's 26 yr old Central Defender Danny Sullivan lives in Connahs Quay with his partner Natalie and 1yr old son Kylo and works for Kuehne and Nagel who are contracted to manage the stores at Airbus in Broughton.
Sully played for Caernarfon Town last season and has also played for Buckley, Flint, FC Nomads, Hawarden and Holywell. He is, essentially, a central midfielder who was persuaded by manager Eddie Maurice- Jones to move to Denbigh at the beginning of this term. He thought the move suited him as he knew what Denbigh Town were about and had played with Ben Nash, the captain, previously as well as Nathan Williams. Denbigh is a little nearer for him and gave him the opportunity to car share which also helped. He settled down very quickly and has been one of our success stories this season even though Eddie has played him in defence rather than midfield. He brings a bit of quality and maturity to the team and has the respect of his team mates as well as those he plays against. Does he mind playing in defence ? It seems Sully may be a diplomat " That is a question. I am a midfielder but I am doing a job and I am enjoying my football. We are having a great run at the moment and it is great winning so many games at this level "
He is a left footed player and is a clean striker of the ball. As well as being able to spray passes around a bit he also likes to take free kicks when possible especially if he has sight of the goal. He said " Yes I like to have a go when I can. I scored from a free kick at Porthmadog and have been close once or twice as well"
Denbigh will have to manage without Danny for a while pretty soon though as he is off to Australia to spend Christmas with his girlfriend's father and step mother. He is looking forward to it and will enjoy the hot weather if not the very long flight. He said " I have travelled to Florida a couple of times before but I am not a great flyer to be honest. The little one will probably find it difficult too but we have stops at Dubai and Bangkok which, hopefully, will break things up a bit "
After picking up five cautions so far Danny was suspended for the last match at Rhyl but went to the game with midfielder Steve Cunningham who was also out of the team as he is recovering from a knee injury. " It was a good game in difficult conditions at times and it was great to pick up three more points as we keep up the pressure on the top teams. We did well especially scoring five goals like that away from home "
Hopefully see you before you go but enjoy Australia Danny
